BYD lanza un vehículo híbrido capaz de viajar de New York a Miami con sólo una carga y un tanque de gasolina

@factores.economicos BYD Co. presentó un nuevo tren motriz híbrido capaz de recorrer más de 2,000 kilómetros (1,250 millas) sin necesidad de recargar o reponer gasolina, intensificando la competencia en la transición hacia vehículos eléctricos con rivales como Toyota Motor Corp. y Volkswagen AG.

La tecnología mejorada, que apunta a distanciar a BYD de sus competidores, se lanzará de inmediato en dos sedanes con un precio inferior a 100,000 yuanes ($13,800), según anunció el fabricante de automóviles en un evento transmitido en vivo el pasado martes por la noche desde China.

El mayor alcance significa que algunos de los autos híbridos eléctricos enchufables de modo dual de BYD pueden cubrir la distancia equivalente de Singapur a Bangkok, Nueva York a Miami o Múnich a Madrid con una sola carga y un tanque lleno de gasolina. Este hito marca el último logro de BYD en la reducción del consumo de combustible desde que presentó sus primeros híbridos en el 2008.

Las acciones de BYD (BYDDY) subieron un 5.45% en la Bolsa de Valores ayer miércoles.
