Buque estadounidense asistirá a migrantes venezolanos en Latinoamérica

Panamá, República Dominicana y Ecuador son algunos de los destinos a donde llegará el barco hospital

El USNS Confort, barco estadounidense, zarpó este miércoles desde el puerto de Miami para recorrer 11 países de Suramérica y Centroamérica que serán los puntos de acopio donde el buque cumplirá una misión de asistencia médica a la crisis humanitaria que se vive en Venezuela.

El objetivo de la misión “Enduring Promise” (Promesa duradera) es atender a la población migrante venezolana que se encuentra en diferentes puntos de Latinoamérica.

Diversos medios locales informaron que los profesionales de la salud, a bordo del buque, prestaran servicio médico dentro y fuera del barco a 500 pacientes al día aproximadamente.

El barco estadounidense, que esta comandado por el capitán de navío Brian Deibold, estará en los puertos de Colombia, Trinidad y Tobago, Ecuador, Panamá, Costa Rica, República Dominicana, Haití, Santa Lucía, Jamaica, San Cristóbal y Nieves, a lo largo de 5 meses y en un orden que por seguridad no han querido revelar.
