Gabriel Martínez, ministro de gobierno de Ecuador, confirmó en su cuenta de Twitter el rescate de las hermanas venezolanas Sofía y Sara Oviedo Quintana, quienes se encontraban en Castilla, Perú, junto a dos mujeres que ya fueron detenidas.

La alerta se produjo luego de que un ciudadano viera a las niñas en un autobús y las identificara por las fotos vistas en Redes Sociales.
