“Coyote” chileno fue arrestado en pleno tráfico de migrantes

La Brigada Investigadora de Trata de Personas de la PDI detuvo a un hombre en pleno delito de tráfico de migrantes.

Según explicó la institución, el procedimiento se basó en un análisis de las rutas utilizadas por las organizaciones criminales ligadas a éste y otros delitos conexos: los detectives se desplegaron en las inmediaciones del Hito 14 de la frontera entre Chile y Perú, y detectaron a seis personas (entre ellas un niño) que caminaban por el desierto hacia la Quebrada Caunire.

Al controlarlos se estableció que un sujeto de nacionalidad chilena que formaba parte del grupo era quien realizaba la labor de guía o “coyote”.

Además, había sido él mismo quien había coordinado el traslado furtivo desde dicha zona desértica hacia la ciudad de Arica, a fin de que los migrantes no fueran detectados en su ingreso irregular a nuestro país.

Imputado por el delito flagrante de tráfico de migrantes, el sujeto quedó a disposición del Juzgado de Garantía de Arica.
